Mindful of the special role that schools play as protectors of children, CIS runs a comprehensive programme of Child Protection, and we strongly suggest following these guidelines when posting on public platforms including social media and websites:
APPROPRIATE CONTENT: FACES, NAMES, LOCATIONS & TAGGING
Do not tag students. The overall goal is to avoid fully identifying any individual student (or to make identification easy).
Be mindful of photos/videos showing behaviour that may seem inappropriate when out of context - e.g., children lying on the floor, mugging for the camera, or in bathing suits.
Be mindful about posting photos/videos that disclose too much personal information - e.g., essays or posters with full student names or a lot of student or family details.
Be mindful about posting information that discloses in advance full details of WHERE/WHEN students will be conducting an activity off-campus.
Stick to first names only. Don’t use full names or family names in English or Chinese.
When in doubt, err on the side of caution - or ask a tech facilitator or member of the Development & Community Relations team.
