1. The SAE would like to offer opportunities to aspiring performers, artists, musicians, or filmmakers who would like to host or lead lunchboxes. Individuals who volunteer to host these lunchboxes will be given a date in advance, necessary resources, and the SAE platform to host their lunchbox during a Thursday lunchtime from 1:00 - 1:40pm.
2. SAE is also recruiting anyone who wants to participate to the SAE team as a member of the arts team or the media team. Members of the arts team are expected to dedicate approx. 1-2 hours of time each week to create posters for weekly arts lunchbox & other illustrative projects. Members of the media team are responsible for capturing footage of SAE Lunchboxes and events, and editing highlights videos for these events (max. 2-3 hours per week). Both teams are expected to attend meetings and fulfil their respective role requirements.
Our goal
SAE's Goal for 2020-21 will be to continue to improve engagement in the arts and give students an opportunity to showcase their work - in the future, the SAE hopes to be able to expand this initiative and use art to help other communities and NGOs as well, hopefully collaborating with different art charities such as the Sovereign Art Foundation or Art for the Disabled Association.
Expectations
Depending on your role in the team, volunteers should generally be expected to attend all meetings (usually bi-weekly) and complete allocated work promptly. A typical week will consist of the SAE hosting one lunchbox every Thursday and members of this service must be able to contribute and help out. Members of the arts/media team will stay in constant communication with the media and marketing manager (Julia Chan) or Arts Director (Veda Lee), attend assigned lunchboxes, and complete assigned tasks accordingly. If you volunteer to host a lunchbox, you will be required to provide the SAE with all the information we need to organise the lunchbox, attend any required meetings, and ultimately share your skills and talent with the community.
Planning Time: Usually Bi-weekly meetings/contact through Whatsapp
Service Day: Thursday (1:00-1:40pm)
Skills Required
Volunteers for opportunity option #1 should be proficient in the skills that they are teaching or performing for a lunchbox (Eg. you must be a skilled dancer to host a dance lunchbox, or an experienced artist to host a drawing lunchbox). Volunteers for opportunity option #2 should be able to fulfil their role requirements and therefore art team applicants should be capable of creating high quality posters and promotional material, and media team applicants should be proficient in filming and editing.
