A. At minimum, you should have 9 experiences on your CAS portfolio. There should be a healthy balance between Creativity, Activity and Service. Some experiences will be year-long (service), others will be semester-based (sports, CCAs), and some will be one-off experiences (if you enter a writing competition, take part in SAE arts lunchbox, volunteer at the school fair, etc.)
A. No, they are not. "Active" experiences refer to experiences that focus on increasing or decreasing your heart rate (sports, yoga, breath work, meditation).
A. As a general rule:
Year-long experiences (service): 9 reflections
Semester-based experiences (sports, CCAs): 3-4 reflections
One-off experiences: 1 reflection
A. You can use photos and videos as EVIDENCE but it has to be accompanied by text to provide context.
A. Pretty much EVERYTHING productive you do outside of class can be counted as CAS. Your Advisor should be listed as your supervisor. The important thing to do is to SET A GOAL. E.g. if you are doing yoga, your goal could be to: master a certain pose, increase the length of time you can hold a challenging pose. Photos and videos should be taken throughout the process and used as evidence.
