HKIDO (Hong Kong International Debate Organization) is a service which allows debate to be spread around the community. From organizing community debate tournaments with profits that go to charity to hosting debate workshops and lessons, HKIDO covers most of the spectrum in regards to debate.
Goal: Our goal is to introduce and teach debate to students around Hong Kong, fostering a love of debate within them. Our goal for this year is to put together a variety competitions, workshops and lessons with the ultimate goal of establishing a stable local debating circuit.
What have we accomplished so far?
Completed a full competition with participation from schools all over Hong Kong
Conducted a workshop for children interested primary students from years 3-6, fostering an interest for debate and preparing them for the upcoming debate competition which will be taking place on March 23
Created a training program for high school students at the Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College
Created a training program for refugees
What we have planned for the future
A debate tournament for children in primary school on the 26th of march
A weekly training session with students from the Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College and people from the refugee union
Expectations
We are looking for passionate individuals who have prior experience in debate. We are also looking for someone who can use the application "tabbycat" to increase efficiency when organizing tournaments.
