Welcome to the LES Music Room where we are kind musicians and movers who think creatively.

I am Mrs. Peters, and I am the Music and Movement Educator at Lykins Elementary.  I am in my 26th  year of teaching at CISD.  I earned a BS in Music and Music Education from New York University and an MSED in Music Education from Queens College.  I am Level 3 Orff certified and Level 1 in Kodaly.  I have also studied World Drumming; folk dance with the Amidons; and Brain Compatible Education and BrainDance with the creator, Anne Green Gilbert.  Several of my movement lessons and choreography pieces have been published by REVERBERATIONS (AOSA--Orff) and MUSIC K8. My latest pieces on Movement were published in THE ORFF ECHO, Summer, 2024 and Winter, 2025.

When I am not at school, I enjoy yoga, dance, photography, reading, and spending time with my family and kitties.
