¡BIENVENIDOS A TODOS!

¡Hola! Soy Gabby Medina. Nací y crecí en Puerto Rico, donde obtuve mi grado de bachillerato en Educación Especial K-12. Este será mi octavo año enseñando entre PR y TX. En 2015 decidí mudarme a Texas para ser maestra bilingüe, y ¡aquí estoy! ¡La mejor experiencia! Este será mi sexto año como maestra bilingüe de primer grado en Lykins Elementary.

Mi esposo José y yo acabamos de cumplir 10 años de casados en julio. Tenemos una hija de 7 años; Alondra Zoé, quien cursará el segundo grado en Lykins.

Durante mi tiempo libre me encanta hornear bizcochos y pasar tiempo de calidad con mi esposo y mi hija.

Estoy muy emocionada de comenzar este año escolar, aprender y divertirme con mis estudiantes y nuestro equipo de primer grado.

Hello! I'm Gabby Medina. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I earned my bachelor's degree in K-12 Special Education. This will be my eighth year teaching between PR and TX. In 2015, I decided to move to Texas to be a bilingual teacher, and here I am! The best experience! This will be my sixth year as a first grade bilingual teacher at Lykins Elementary.

My husband José and I just celebrated 10 years of marriage in July. We have a 7 year old daughter; Alondra, who will be in Second Grade.

During my spare time I love to bake cakes and spend quality time with my husband and daughter.

I am so excited to start this school year learning and having fun with my students and our first grade team.

Please check your child's blue folder each day. This is where you will find the daily reading log and homework to practice.

CLASS DAILY SCHEDULE

Nuestros estudiantes asisten a una clase de especiales diferente cada día durante 50 minutos.

Todos deben utilizar zapatos tenis (cerrados) para participar de manera segura en Educación Física (en ocasiones especiales, debe traerlos en la mochila).

El dinero del desayuno, almuerzo, snack y/o helado se puede agregar en línea a la cuenta del estudiante de "School Cafe". Este año el desayuno tendrá un costo de $2.75 y el almuerzo $3.85.

Merienda: Por favor, envíe una merienda saludable para comer en clase y una botella de agua reusable con popote adherido que pueda ser fácil para tomar y rellenar fácilmente.

Our students attend a different specials class each day for almost 1 hour. Students need to wear sneakers every day to safely participate in P.E. or bring them to change into.

Breakfast, lunch, snack and/or ice cream money may be added to your child's lunch account online on the School Cafe site for additional snacks and ice cream day. This year breakfast will cost $2.75 and lunch will cost $3.85.

Snack: Please provide a healthy snack for your child to eat in class during snack time and a flip top/straw water bottle that can be easily refilled.

Si es posible, envíe en un bolsa plástica una muda de ropa en la mochila de su hijo/a en caso de tener algún accidente en la escuela o se ensucie y necesite cambiarse. Rotule la bolsa con el nombre y el apellido de su hijo/a. Asegúrese de cambiar la ropa para que esté adecuada con el clima.

change of Clothes

If possible, please send a plastic bag with an extra set of clothes in your child's backpack in case they have an accident at school or get dirty and need to change. Label the bag with your child's first and last name. Please make sure to swap out the clothes to fit the changing weather.
