Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Hey,Hey 2nd graders!

I'm Ms. Stephens and I have been blessed to be teaching at Lykins for 9 years now!

TEACHING IS MY PASSION AND I LOVE TEACHING 2ND GRADE!!!!

This will be my 4th year teaching 2nd grade.

I LOVE TO LEARN and I HOPE TO INSPIRE YOU to want to learn too!

LEARNING IS SO MUCH FUN!!!

Outside of teaching, I am a proud mom of 3 boys, Austin, Colton, and Keaton. Even as adults, they keep me busy. I love and adore them.

I also have a beautiful rescue dog named Bella!!!

I graduated college from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas!!! Go Tigers!! Go Hogs!!

I enjoy listening, singing, and dancing along to all types of music!!!

It's my favorite way of working out!

Ways I like to relax are going to get my nails done, eating out anywhere, on-line shopping, learning more about the Lord, and just loving life!!!

Our class will be a learning environment that's safe, fun, and loving!!!

We will grow to be problem-solvers with a Growth-Mindset knowing that we can accomplish anything we set our minds on doing!!!

WE WILL BE A FAMILY THAT SUPPORTS EACH OTHER AND "PAYS IT FORWARD"!!!

OUR NUMBER ONE WAY TO COMMUNICATE WILL BE THROUGH MY SCHOOL EMAIL.

This year our class will be using the ClassDojo App. This will be another way for me to communicate with parents, in addition to emails and our weekly Newsletter.

Dojo is a fun way for us to socially share our families and accomplishments with each other.

REMEMBER, TO EMAIL ME WITH IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION ABOUT YOUR CHILD. I DO NOT CHECK DOJO DAILY.

Please download the ClassDojo app. Your student will receive a code that you will use to join Ms. Stephens's Class 2026-27

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Please contact me if your child has a birthday you would like to celebrate by sending a sweet treat to school.

This will allow me to check for any allergies in the classroom beforehand and alert that student's parent to send a special treat so they are not left out of the celebration.

Please send one treat per student and drop them off at the front office.

TAKE HOME Folders

Please check your child's backpack for their orange folder.

This will be where behavior notes, daily notes, and other information will be sent home.

I plan on this being every Thursday or Friday.

This is also where you will send communications and forms back to school.

Restaurant: Celina and Prosper restaurants would be great! I will love whatever you gift me. Eating out is fun!

Colors: Bright vibrant colors like turquoise, coral, hot pink, neon green

Stores: Amazon, Walmart, Costco, HEB

Snacks: Sprouted pumpkin seeds, jerkies, high protein snacks, and flavored popcorns. Banana bread and Pumpkin bread are favorites.

All Time Favorite Treat- is a charcuterie board with fancy MEATS and CHEESES!!!

I just love them.

Candy: High protein snack bars that are like a candy bar, sour gummys, and chocolates.

Beverages: Sparkling flavored Waters, Protein or Energy drinks, Electrolyte Drink Mix Packets, Dirty Diet Dr Pepper (Sonic), Berry Citrus Frozen Refresher slush.(Sonic)

Birthday- December 6th

Hobbies: I enjoy reading, singing, eating out, going to the movies, and hanging out with family and my dog, Bella.

I do enjoy going to my students activities too. If you will send me a schedule, I will try to make it.

STUDENTS FAVORITE THINGS

DAILY SNACK TIME

Please provide a healthy, dry snack for your child to eat in class during snack time. Fresh fruit/vegies is allowed, but please no fruit cups that can spill or snacks with utensils.

DAILY WATER BOTTLE

Students will need a reusable no-spill, flip top/straw water bottle that can be easily refilled.

Specials Schedule

Stephens Class follows the BLUE rotation

Our students attend a different specials class each day for 50 minutes. Students need to wear sneakers every day to safely participate in P.E. or remember to bring them to change into (dress up/picture days)

Create a School Cafe account. As our dining services have expanded, so has our system to better serve our Bobcats. Additionally, families who qualify for free or reduced meal programs, may indicate that need by filling out the confidential forms.
