Comprehensive Assessment and Grading Process

he assessment process at Capital College is a comprehensive five-step procedure designed to ensure fairness, accuracy, and validity in evaluating our students' academic performance. 

Here are the steps:

1. Pre-Assessment Moderation: Before any assessment is administered, it undergoes a thorough review by our academic team. 

2. Post-Assessment with Double Markers: After students complete the assessment, it's marked by two independent markers.

3. Moderation Committee Review: Once the assessments have been marked, they are reviewed by a moderation committee comprised of academic staff from the faculty. 

4. Moderation Panel Review: After the moderation committee's review, any necessary adjustments can be made to the grades to ensure they accurately reflect each student's performance. 

5. Final Moderation with Examination Board: The last stage of the process involves a final review by the Examination Board. 

This rigorous process ensures that our assessments are not only a fair reflection of each student's academic performance but also a reliable measure of their understanding.
