Approval of Assessment results, Appeals and Awards
Upon approval of the results by the Examination Board, the Office of Student Affairs will release the examination results to all students.
If students have met all the graduation requirements, their names will be submitted to the Examination Board and/or External Academic Partners for approval of their graduation.
Final results and awards must be released within three months upon completion of the final examination and/or assignment of the course for both in-house courses and courses with External Academic Partners.
Dissemination of awards can be in the form of information provided to students. The final transcript and certificate must be issued within 3 months of the date of last assessment.
Following is the appeal procedure for:
Courses with External Academic Partners
Upon release of results, students may submit an Appeal Request Form together with the payment of the required fee to the Office of Student Affairs. Students are given at least 7 working days to submit an appeal after the release of exam results.
The Office of Student Affairs must acknowledge the receipt of the Appeal Request Form within 3 working days and proceed to submit the appeal to the External Academic Partner.
All decisions made by the External Academic Partner are deemed final and subject to their appeal processes.
The Examination Board reviews and endorses the appeal results before the Office of Student Affairs informs the students of the outcome (to be done within 4 weeks from the date of the appeal).
Should there be changes required, the Office of Student Affairs will make the necessary amendments to the results slip.
In-house Courses
Upon the release of results, students may submit an Appeal Request Form together with the payment of the required fee to the Office of Student Affairs. Students are given at least 7 working days to submit an appeal after the release of exam results.
The Office of Student Affairs must acknowledge the receipt of the Appeal Request Form within 3 working days and proceed to submit the appeal to the Chief Academic Officer.
The Chief Academic Officer reviews the appeal and decide the validity of the appeal. If the request qualifies for an appeal, a different marker will be deployed to re-mark the paper. Comments from the re-marking, must be stated in the Appeal Request Form, which would be circulated to the Examination Board Chairman for their approval.
All decisions by the Examination Board are final.
The Office of Student Affairs will inform the student of the final decision within 4 weeks from the date of the appeal.
Should there be changes required, the Office of Student Affairs will make the necessary amendments to the results slip based on the final result..
Special provision on Assessments
Supplementary Assessments (when applicable)
The Office of Student Affairs will inform the student of the supplementary assessment date and collect the supplementary assessment fee.
Deferred Sitting of Assessment
For deferred assessment, student must submit a request for deferred assessment together with supporting documents to support their request.
The Chief Academic Officer will consult with the respective Deans and make a final decision on the deferment.
For deferred assessments, they follow the same assessments process and procedure as indicated in the Section above.
For courses with External Academic Partners, the decision to allow deferment will depend on the external academic partner’s policy on deferment of assessments.
