Choice boards are instructional tools that offer students multiple ways to demonstrate mastery of the standard based on their interests, learning style, and readiness. They provide students with autonomy and agency over their learning while still meeting the learning objectives of the lesson or unit. When designing choice boards, begin with the standards in mind. Think about what the chosen standard(s) require students to know and be able to do. The choice board tasks should align to standards mastery. Providing voice and choice increases engagement, and it's fun!
