National Progression Awards (NPA's) are aimed at assessing a defined set of skills and knowledge in specialist vocational areas.

There are three different group awards to choose from in the Science faculty:

NPA in Science and Health at SCQF level 4

NPA in Science and Technology at SCQF level 4

NPA in Applied Sciences at SCQF level 5

The titles of the group awards reflect the competences of the qualifications. While all three group awards contain units in chemistry, physics and biology or health science plus a practical based unit, the component units have been chosen to ensure an accurate match to the group award titles.
