The National 5 Media course is open to S5/6 pupils who have passed National 5 English in S4, or on the basis of teacher recommendation in S3 going into S4.

Nat 5 Media aims to help you develop critical and creative skills through analysing and creating media content. Students will learn to look critically at examples of different media texts including film trailers, feature-length films and adverts to develop knowledge of media literacy. Students will gain an understanding of the theory and the practical skills to create their own media content, perhaps using camerawork. Students will learn to appreciate the opportunities and challenges in the media industry.
