When school was over I grabbed my bike, and started riding.

“Go faster!”

I heard an unfamiliar scream.

“ Go faster! “

the voice yelled again. I turned around to see who was yelling at me.

“Ride!”

The person was a person on a bike just like mine. He was uncontrollably fast on his bike. I started riding my bike as fast as I could towards my house. “Go faster!”

“ Ah! Then it happened. He hit me. At first, I felt nothing then I felt a stinging pain in my left leg. I felt like like crying but my tears were holding back. I tried to stand up but I couldn't. My bike was on top of my left leg and my leg was touching my butt. I told the guy to go get my mom I told him I lived at 22 brocks street. He ran as fast as could to my house. I yelled in pain. The neighbors come out to my yelling. I told her what happened trembling. I had started crying because it started hurting really bad. It felt like someone was trying to hammer a rock into my leg. My mom came running toward me. Mom! I yelled. She hugged me really tight like she just got 1 million bucks. Mom I said hardly talking I think I broke my leg. . Okay . She whipped out her phone and started dialing.I heard her calling. I heard the three buttons she pressed. 911.

Chapter 2 OUCH!

We rushed to the hospital in the ambulance. I have never been in an ambulance before I thought. When I woke up from my deep sleep I saw a small space I felt squished. There was a bunch of medical tools surrounding me. I heard my mom talking to my Dad. She was saying “ Honey she’s hurt!” My mom had her phone on speaker, so I could hear my dad also.

“I know she’s hurt!” my dad yelled.

“Mark, Jackie Said she might have broke her leg. She’s hurt. Why can’t you delay your case?” My mom asked temper losing.

“Lydia sweetie I know that our daughter is hurt but if I delay my case it will mess up my schedule. If I mess up my schedule I won’t make good money.”

“ I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU MARK YOUR SO GREEDY!” Then my mom hung up.

“We are here you can’t move your leg so the paramedics are going to lift you out of this hospital bed and put you in a wheelchair. Okay”

“Okay.” I said.

“ Jackie Poleride you're up !” The nurse screamed. “Okay while you wait I am going to ask you and your mom a few questions about what happened and your personal life. Okay to start, what happened when your bike crashed.”

“Well, I started I got on my bike to ride home from school.” I said nervously.

“Mhm.” The nurse said trying to sound like she cared.

“Then I heard someone yelling at me to go faster.” I explained frustratedly

“ okay can you tell me what the boy looked like and what clothing he had on.” The nurse said.

“Yeah he had long hair and it was black his eyes were light black like a gray.” I answered.

“OKay that's all.” Mrs Pooleride can you come in the hall with me for a second?” The nurse asked. “Sure my mom said.

Chapter 3

X-rays!

As my mom was in the hall talking to the nurse I was in the room and it was quite odd from the other doctor offices in New York. It was small the bed I was on was small on the ground. There was a desk with 9 drawers and all of the doctor tools was in the desk. There was coloring books and crayons and 3 spinny chairs. “Honey!” My mom shouted.

“Mom! “You nearly gave me a heart attack. And nurse what is your name?”

“My name is Jastlin Nurse Jastlin.” Answered Nurse Jastlin “So let me introduce you to the doctor.”

Hi I’m Mr, criniti I will be your doctor today I will be checking you out. So to start, can you move your leg in anyway?”

“I don’t know.” I stated in pain.

“Okay. So it's probably a brake so we are going to get some x-rays on your arm. Just hang in there okay.”

“Okay.” I returned the words.

When I got to the x-rays the nurse said that I had broke a one and I’ll be in a cast from 6-8 weeks. But then the doctor pulled the nurse out the door. After talking for around 3 minutes the doctor came in to pull my mom out for another 3 minutes. When my mom came back in she was crying. Then the Doctor came in to tell me something.

“ Jackie.” The doctor said disappointedly. “ you broke your leg in the worst and weirdest way possible.”

“How.” I asked anxiously.

“ well, you young lady will never be able to walk again.”

Then I started to tremble.

“ you will be in a wheelchair and we are going to give you medicine so you can’t feel anything. Okay?”

“Okay.” I started to break out in tears

“Ohh don’t cry.”

The bright side is that you get to pick out your wheelchair. There is baby blue, Puppy prints, kitty faces, and black.” He said nicely.

“ I’ll choose… Puppy prints.” I answered excited.

Chapter 4

Back at school

As I wheeled out to my car I saw The boy that hit me. This time his eyes were blue and his hair was short and blond. “Wait.” I shouted to him. He was starting to walk a little faster. I grabbed his arm. “Let go!” He shouted.

“ I just want to know why you crashed into me”. I asked him

“ um yeah sorry about that gotta go!”

Oh okay.”

“Um can you let go of my arm maybe.”

“ oh sorry.” And he ran to his mom.

“Jackie get over here. We have to go.”

“Hey mom can you turn the music on please? “ no Jackie. The doctor said no loud noises.

Chapter 5

New friends

“ Hey.” said a mean looking girl. “ oh my gosh. I just love your skirt. Is that silk?

I was wearing a baby blue un evin skirt and a belly shirt but an undershirt under it. The shirt said black soul and my undershirt was dark blue and the shoes were 4 inch wedges they were blue and black and my hair had a small strip of blue in it.

“Oh wow when did you get a wheelchair?”

“ I got it just yesterday. Why?” I asked confused.

“ just wondering because you look so cool in a wheelchair.”

“ Can I possibly be your friend?”

“ Of course. You know what? I’ll let you have a sleepover tomorrow.”

“ Oh and I forgot to ask you this but what is your name?” I asked.

“ Oh ha ha sorry about that. My name is Prixine.”

“Wow I love your name.” I stated impressed.

“See you tomorrow then.” She said happy.

“Yeah I can’t wait!”

Chapter 6

THe sleepover

When I got home I asked my Mom if I could sleepover there she said if I behave.

Chapter 7

The sleepover

“ Mom! I gotta go Mrs Lita’s here.” I yelled happily.

“ Okay sweets see ya tomorrow.”

“ Tomorrow tomorrow I love ya tomorrow.” I started singing

“ Ha Ha.” My mom laughed sarcastically.

“ LOve you.”

I wheeled out the door towards the the car.

“ Whoa. This is the most coolest car I have ever seen,” I complimented.

“ Oh sorry my daughter didn’t tell you her name her name is Vivie,” Said Vivie’s mom.

“ Okay can we go?”

The car was Like a mustang.

“ We have a spot in the car just for you.” She told me.

I smiled. And got in. But, I didn’t really need to do much work because there was a lift for me personally!

A little while later we were at the house. It was huge! Then like 5 or 6 puppies spilled out the door.

“ Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. They are so cute!” I awwed.

“ I know wait until you see my kittens!” we went into Vivie’s house smoothly.

“ Meow meow.” Meowed Vivie’s little kitten.“you can call him Hassy.”

“ Hi-ya Hassy.” I said in a cute voice.

“ Meow”

I glanced around the room to have a chance to see it. Her house was a medium size. The wall colors were a baby blue and this amazing yellow.

In her living room there was a chair. The exact same purple chair that I have in my room. I was so surprised because my dad had made mine.

“ Hey were did you get that chair?” I asked curiously.

“ Oh my dad gave me it. Why?”

“ I have same one.”

Her mouth started to open.

“ What is your dad’s name?” I asked.

“ Mark Pooleride.” She responded.

What is your last name?”

“ IT’s Pooleride. Why are you asking?”

“ I’m asking because My last name is Pooleride. I said.

“ So does that make us sisters?”

“I think so.” Vivie said with uncertainty

Chapter 8

Mother to daughter talk

“Hey mrs’ Pooleride.”

“Yeah. Wait how did you know my last name?”

“ Oh maybe it’s my last name and my father's name and my sister's last name.

“I can explain.”

“ you better.” I said with girl power.

Chapter 9

I’m confused

When I got home I was furious!

“ Mom Why didn’t you tell me that I had a sister!”

“ A sister!”

“ A sister!”

“Hold on let me call up your dad.”

He didn’t answer the phone so I wheeled into my room.

I started to write in my diary.

Dear diary,

Today I just found out that I have a sister. Yeah a sister. It’s so amazing to have a sister. I didn’t find out if she is older or younger.Amazing right.I can’t wait till tomorrow it’s my birthday.

When I finished in my journal I went to sleep.

Chapter 10

The Good news and the bad

“ Honey I have some news. I adopted you. I know this is hard but your real mom is Lilla.”

“ Vivie’s mom is my real mom.”

I ran up to my room. I started to cry.

“ why. Why. Why. Why. Why. I don’t get it. Why did my real mom not keep me but kept Vivie. ANd why did my adopted mom wait until I turn 14. It’s just not fair.

I decided to go over to my closet and play on my guitar. I took it out of my closet remembering everything I learned at my old school about playing my guitar. Then my “mom” came in and started to cry she ran over to me and hugged me.

“ Oh honey I’m so sorry that I didn’t tell you until your birthday.”

I pushed her off me.

“ I don’t think so. Because if you were sorry you would have told me before.

I started to stuff some of my things in a bag.

“ I’m going to Vivie’s house because all you do is wait.

“ I’m not going to stop you, because if I were you I would be rolling out of this room too.”

“ Anyway I am going to be leaving now.”

When I got to Vivie’s house I told her the whole story.

“ Wait she just let you come to my house?”

“ Yeah. She said if she were me she would be wheeling out right now.” I said

“ That was amazing.”

Chapter 11

THe nickname

Since I gave Vivie a nickname I thought she might give me one.

Wheeler. So do you like the nickname?”

I love it.” I said.

Let’s have a talk. The school talent show is coming up soon, so you should sign up for the song you sang for me and you can play your guitar too!”

“ I don’t know Viv. I am stage fright.”

“I get it the first time I performed I was scared.”

“ Could I Here How you sound?” I asked.

“You sound so good you should too!”

“ No! Sorry to disappoint you but you haven’t heard what happened to me last time I was in the talent show.”

“ Okay as long as you don’t laugh.”

“Wait! Before you start How old are you?”

I’m fifteen today.”

“ I’m fourteen today.”

“ So it was the talent show and I was up so I walked on to the stage and said I am singing the song Stay alone. I t was a big song then, So I started. And I was dancing then somebody named Lilly started singing along with me, And I started to get mad but I didn't show it. Then she came up, Took the mike, pushed me off the stage and yelled in my face. I ran off to the bathroom and cried. THen I went back in the room grabbed some fruit punch, she was still up there so I Walked up the stairs to the stairs and said hey! Then splashed the fruit punch in her face then she pushed me off the stage everyone laughed. So that is why I am not doing the talent show again.¨

“ Oh” I said.

Chapter 12

Signing up

When I got to school I went right to the gym to sign up the paper said rehearsals will be after school in the library. So I picked the pen up noticing that I was sweating because of everything that has happened over the weekend. I started to write my name Jackie Pooleride I wrote it in the neatest handwriting I could.

Finally the last bell rang.

By the time I got there it was my turn anyway there was time for only 20 performers.

¨ Okay I can do this I can do this.¨

¨ Jackie you are up.¨

¨ Um okay I am singing for you today, A short with my guitar and it is called THe way it was by me.”

She looked up from the sheet and said:

¨ Jackie you are in. It is held October 13.¨

I felt amazing I could just scream I mean it is awesome to find out that you are in a performance in front of the whole school.

When I got home I just had to tell my “mom” that I got in

I felt like everything that had happened on the weekend had just been a nightmare. I Rolled into her room she was lying down on her bed.

¨honey did you come to talk to me about what happened over the weekend?

¨ No. I came to tell you some good news. I got in the talent show!.¨ I said feeling proud of myself.

Chapter 13

When the bell rang we were called to the gym to practice. just. There were a lot of diverse kids there. 16 People had gone by the time is was finished sleeping. It was a few more minutes till It was my turn. I felt sweaty but I know that I would be a lot more sweaty when it is time to perform. Then all of the sudden I was up.

¨ Jackie it is time.¨

¨ Okay.¨ I said with a big loud sigh.

When I was done everyone was staring at me. I felt like a complete idiot. But then I heard some claps then a bunch. I was so embarrassed. That was just the practice though. The rest of the day was very interesting.

Then all I know is I wake up and it is time to go. So, I grab my guitar rush out the door and hoped for the best.

When I got there everyone was there. When I say everyone honey I mean everyone.

¨ Chop Chop! Get in place!¨ Mrs, Bezzy said.

Then it was on. The competition.

¨ Uh hi everyone I hope you had a good night so far but you will have a better one after mine.¨ I said.

I looked around. Where is my mom's. Then I saw them walk in. When that happened my confidence got higher. Then I took a loud breath and started singing.

Then When I finished. I heard clapping hands then more then even more.

I said thank you then walked off the stage.

I gave them time to decide who was the winner.

¨ The prize is $500. The first place winner is Jackie Pooleride!

The second place prize is $250. The second place winner is Maria Lundonson!

The third place prize is $175. The third place winner is Roget lihen! ¨

I got so happy. I can believe how much money I won! $

Chapter 14

The best ending ever

Everything works out at the end you know. What I am talking about is “mom” won the lottery and vivie and her mom moved in with us (and all of her animals.) Johnny and his mom stayed. But we chat. THat Morriss dude he is just a mystery for everyone. Remember I have a wheelchair! It turns out that it is not so bad after all (when you have a puppy print one.) Well I guess that there is nothing else to talk about huh? I am busy gotta go!
