State Flower

North Dakota's state flower is the Rosa Arkansana. The reason it is called the Rosa Arkansana is because in Spanish Rosa means Rose, so it's like saying Rose Arkansana.

In English Arkansana is Arkansas! So it's Rose Arkansas. The reason it is called this is because long ago this flower used to grow in the deserts of Arkansas and then one day it got really hot! The water sunk into the sand and rocks. Then during spring, that same flower started growing all over North Dakota! And now it is the state flower of North Dakota! Pretty neat huh?
