8.0 Final Project

After an entire semester of searching the globe for issues to examine and trends to understand we have reached the final project. Each of you will be providing the class with a short, precise, and well-researched analysis of a global issue of your own choice. The topic should be relevant and should avoid being precisely the same as something which we have already covered. Hopefully the topic will combine some of the things we have examined and will reflect some of the nuance and complexity that understanding many issues requires.

Final Project Requirements:

• 500-700 Word Executive Summary that is clear, concise, and devoid of grammatical, factual, and syntax errors. This should be handed in at the beginning of the exam/presentation period. Particular care should be made to illustrate the relevance of the topic on a local, national, and global scale.
• A short 5-7 minute presentation with appropriate media and format to be shared and posted. The presentation should reflect preparation, scholarly content, and appropriate and informative media.
• A citation list in MLA format should be included with the executive summary.
• Contribute a short feedback assessment (through an online grading rubric) of the presentations of the other class members.
• The entire summary and the presentation materials should also be placed in your student website and be placed on a page that is labelled final project or Unit 8.
