Fried Chicken and Waffle Sandwich (hefty slabs of fried chicken — crispy and succulent with just a hint of sweetness from the sweet tea brine — are sandwiched between fluffy buckwheat waffles cloaked in cheddar cheese [and] served with peppery watercress, pickled green tomatoes and a cup of whiskey-infused maple syrup)

Sides: Watermelon salad, tater tots

3.1/5 Maybe it's because we had to assemble these sandwiches themselves, but this sandwich, unfortunately, did not live up to our expectations. While the ingredients were separately delicious, and they did work together, there was still something about it that didn't quite work together. Maybe it was the whiskey-infused maple syrup that didn't really seem to taste like actual maple syrup, or maybe it was because the chicken wasn't crunchy and/or crispy enough, or maybe it was because the waffle soaked up the syrup way too fast so that it was a soggy mess by the time the sandwich reached your mouth...either way, this sandwich was not worth the $15 price tag. The location is cute though! Take your date there--and order the fried chicken (just not the sandwich).
