Pisillo Italian Panini

In a special winter edition of Sandwich Friday, we journeyed down to this FiDi hole in the wall after reading a rave review on midtownlunch.com. While this was no Grocer's Classic, it was a very well made and, more importantly, well proportioned sandwich. Held together with two ruler-length pieces of soft ciabatta, the arugula to prosciutto to mozzarella ratio was excellent, with no one ingredient overpowering the others. And to garnish it off was Pisillo's homemade hot spread, which led one person to comment, "This should be on every sandwich!" Overall, a solid addition to our list!
