Roast Pork Sandwich

(Broccoli Rabe, Sharp Prov, Long Hot)

4.7/5.0

Quotes**

"I guess I'll just have to get messy" - Jack Herzberg

"...It's uncomfortable grease" - Grace Bae

"I don't know what you all are calling grease, this is juice" - Marlowe Greenberg

"I don't usually eat pork but I've heard people say that it is good. Now, I see what they mean" - Yehuda Charm

On a day that featured two sandwiches, the roast pork sandwich was the first bite. Once opened, like Jack thought, one had to eat this in a messy manner. The first bite revealed a lot of flavors and also a spiciness that enhanced the taste of this sandwich. The pork was tender, the broccolli was well made and the long peppers (Elizabeth complained about the remnant pepper stem) were packed into a sandwich that did more that satisfy. The sauce which was named 'Fat and Garlic' by Marlowe was not just a shop souvenir but enhanced the overall taste of the sandwich. Some complained that it was spicy, others (Grace Bae majorly) about the grease levels. However, what the sandwich offered in terms of taste was enough to earn it a high rating despite the constant effort to hold the sandwich together and contain the overflowing grease. Would I get this again? yes. And again? Yes.

Cheese-Steak Sandwich

(Pat lafrieda flat iron, fried onions, whiz, cherry peppers.)

Quotes**

"It's just good food" - Yehuda Charm

"When I bit into it, it made me happy" - Grace Bae

"I wish I could eat this forever" - Sarah Morrison

Our second sandwich of the day, the cheese-steak sandwich, was ordered after Marlowe found out that the Fedoroff's Sunday Gravy Sandwich was only available on Sundays. However, I feel this order was meant to be. Unwrapping the large white sheet of paper and thin transparent wrap that lined the sandwich, I was greeted by a 'compact' union of meat, peppers and onions. First bite. Second bite. The sandwich stayed compact. The meat was shredded perfectly and the sandwich was prepared in such a way that the blend of flavors still allowed for one to savor the individual component of this sandwich. It was simply delicious. There was the 'Fat and Garlic' sauce which accompanied the Roast Pork Sandwich that we had earlier and for a moment, it did not seem like a bad idea to dip the cheese-steak sandwich in the sauce. "Voila!" (in Daniel's mind). That combination hit the spot. "It was a spicier than a regular cheese-steak", Elizabeth said, but she ended up handing this sandwich a solid 4.9. Scoring a 5.0 in 5 of 10 reviews by those who had it, this sandwich is one that soothes the taste buds.
