Roast Beef (Wagyu Roast Beef, Comte, Horseradish & Arugula, on an Everything Baguette)

~Sides: Slab Bacon Salt-Baked Potatoes & Smoked Black Cod Salt-Baked Potatoes

The sandwich (above) should have had more beef, but it did pack some unique flavors, from the everything baguette to the horseradish sauce.

This was quite the underwhelming start to Sandwich Fridays for 2016. First off, many were upset (and outright offended) at how overpriced it was for its size. And although many horseradish lovers in the office appreciated the sauce, there just wasn't enough meat! The stand-out flavors of the sandwich were the horseradish and the everything baguette.

Many commented that the individual components (namely the peppery arugula) were good, but bringing them all together was another matter. It was a mixed consensus as to whether the flavors could actually meld into a 'perfect bite.'

Overall, we had a mixed batch of opinions: a few loved it, most did not. The highlight comment of the afternoon, "it's lucky to get a 2," was met with much laughter.

For some, mainly Marlowe, there was nothing special about the sandwich. He set the tone for deliberation, and it carried through: "that was a mediocre sandwich."

FINAL SCORE:

2.9/5.0

(But the potato sides were pretty awesome.)
