Mission Statement:

The Technology Student Association fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); members apply and integrate these concepts through co-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs.

TSA Motto:

Learning To Live In A Technical World

TSA Creed:

I believe that Technology Education holds an important place in my life in the technical world. I believe there is a need for the development of good attitudes concerning work, tools, materials, experimentation, and processes of industry. Guided by my teachers, artisans from industry, and my own initiative, I will strive to do my best in making my school, community, state, and nation better places in which to live. I will accept the responsibilities that are mine. I will accept the theories that are supported by proper evidence. I will explore on my own for safer, more effective methods of working and living. I will strive to develop a cooperative attitude and will exercise tact and respect for other individuals. Through the work of my hands and mind, I will express my ideas to the best of my ability. I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me, and to be steadfast in my belief in my God, and my fellow Americans.

What is TSA?

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national organization of students engaged in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Open to students enrolled in or who have completed Technology Education courses, TSA’s membership includes over 225,000 middle and high school students in approximately 2,000 schools spanning 49 states. TSA is supported by educators, parents and business leaders who believe in the need for a technologically literate society. Members learn through exciting competitive events, leadership opportunities and much more. The diversity of activities makes TSA a positive experience for every student. From engineers to business managers, our alumni credit TSA with a positive influence on their lives.

When Does TSA Meet?

TSA meets monthly through the majority of the school year. Initially meetings will run until 4:00. Once students have begun working on projects for competition, meetings may be extended until 4:30.

Where Are Meetings Held?

Meetings are held in the Technology and Engineering Education laboratories in the front of the school (rooms 101 and 103). The rooms are located at the opposite end of the PE hallway. Parents are asked to pick-up students at the athletic entrance, as room 103 has doors (door 3) directly adjacent to this entrance.

How To Join?

Any students enrolled in or who have completed Technology Education courses are eligible to join. A permission form must be completed and submitted to Mr. Curry no later than October 31st. Permission forms can be picked up from Mr. Curry or downloaded here: TSA Permission Form. Students wishing to participate in regional, state, and national competitions must also submit TSA Dues ($12) to Mrs. Reed the school's bookkeeper or pay online using My School Bucks.

Competitions

TSA’s competitive events are often cited as the primary reason that members join TSA. The TSA offers over 60 competitive events for middle and high school students, spanning every field of applied Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Think film, music, engineering, medicine, architecture, fashion, photography, web and graphic design, debating, presentations, interview skills, and more.

Competitive events can be individual or team events, and progress differently. Some events begin at the school or regional level, requiring students to qualify for state and national competition, while other events allow new entries even at the state and national levels.
