Reminder: Asafeiology is the scientific field Asafei Science deals in, created by Cal Meletie. Asáfeia* is Greek and means "ambiguity" - in that the field covers literally all of science, often making it ambiguous which branch of science they are actually researching.

* It's actually pronounced "a-SAH-fee-(y)a", but Cal and I both pronounce asafeiology "a-sah-fay-O-lo-gee". I blame this on Cal not being all that good at Greek. (By the way, his last name also originates from Greek.)

In my opinion, if magic is consistent enough to be described and studied scientifically, it's still science to do so, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not also magic. Science and magic are not mutually exclusive, and sometimes, they can even be two sides of the same coin.

This is quite possibly the most important str'p in the storyline.
