Backgrounds? Woa...ote.
Commentary
Some other stuff:
- I made a new vote incentive yesterday, and of course that means I also made an old one public. :-)
- I also made fan art for El Goonish Shive, featuring two characters from EGS in the Com'c art style.
- Finally, Brinjal, awesome as he is, has made a really cool colored version of the anniversary special!

So don't do drugs, or Jane will ea-- Woah, woah, woah. Hang on for a minute. Detailed backgrounds?!
I didn't actually intend to make backgrounds, but panel 2 wound up with an empty bit I couldn't justify, so I drew some more kitchen desks and stuff there. (At this point I had already acknowledged that the str'p was going to be late on account of the foreground of the same panel.) But then this pesky concept of consistency drove me to make a background for panel one as well. At least in panel three, Jane's sitting by a table next to a wall, so I could get off easy there. :P
The hand in panel one and most of the foreground in panel two were made by tracing (sorry to anyone who briefly thought I'd learned to draw), a method I don't like to use but found necessary for the str'p. One of the reasons I don't like to use the method is that it takes forever to replace the existing pixels with flat colors. The str'p would probably have been up much earlier if I'd used a drawing program with layers. As it is, it's an hour and a half late despite me starting work on it an hour early.
I wonder who Jane is talking to.
