Some of these vote texts really suck.

Commentary

- Ernie and Clyde

As I'm writing this, it's still Saturday (I posted the previous str'p four hours ago), but when it's posted, it will be Monday, and my first day at school after summer. I still haven't quite figured out what to call the type of school I'm starting at in English, but it's called videregående (continuing/proceeding/etc.) in Norwegian.

I'm a little worried about how this will affect Com'c, because the days are two lessons (about one and a half hour) longer, plus there's supposedly a lot of homework. (School goes before Com'c.) I will be trying to get a bit of Com'c work done in the weekends, but I can't promise that the schedule won't act up because of this. Luckily, a str'p only takes maybe an hour or two to make and post, so it might work out. We'll see what happens.

Ernie and Clyde

They're not actually allowed to break the fourth wall.

I spent quite a bit of the day designing Ernie and Clyde. A major factor of their design is "similar but distinct", because they're twins. I think you could call them near-identical. One and a half egg, or something. Also, Ernie is the first Com'c character who is not symmetrical. If we see him from the left, his tooth looks different and the scars are in different places.

Designing them like this, particularly Ernie's scars, also helped develop my sense of their personalities:

Ernie is the most aggressive one when confronted, and often wound up in fights when he was younger, explaining his scars, broken vampire teeth and broken nose. (Originally, his left tooth was supposed to be whole, but it made him look too much like Clyde from that side.)

Clyde is a little shy and nowhere near as aggressive as Ernie, but also slightly smarter. He's been able to mostly avoid fights, and has tried (and generally failed) to keep Ernie from them.

Also, they're not stupid, just slow at learning.

Finally:

The site has a new section called "Extras"! This is where I will post extra stuff directly related to Com'c, such as old vote incentives at a five-incentive delay (details on the section archive). In fact, the first incentive is already there, with a short commentary, so you should definitely take a look!
