Due to #158 to #165 happening on the same day, it's not far-fetched to say that this takes place not too long after #157. Why exactly Garry was still there at that point is uncertain, though, since he seems to have been hired very recently, if he is even telling the truth.
This is the first canon str'p to properly establish in-comic that Ella is a team leader. Specifically, Team B. This was implied in a vote incentive (the next one to be posted in Extras, actually, #3), but not mentioned in canon even though I have been keeping it in mind ever since.
The only reason Braebuburn is mentioned in this str'p is to introduce the conversation and establish that they weren't already talking to each other. Braebuburn, who prefers to go by Brae, is another scientist who happens to be very old. We may get to see him at some point. (And no, I'm not misspelling "Braeburn".)
