Nope.

Commentary

Long commentary today. Worthy of sections!

About the missed str'p

Uhh... Okay. Sorry. It looks like I straight-out forgot to post a str'p on Monday. I just noticed. :-(

I'm really, really sorry about that. I can't say I'll never do it again, but seriously, I'm sorry. Both towards all my (few) readers, and towards myself. Shame on me!

The most likely reason for me forgetting is that I had a bad headache for most of the day on Monday, and as you probably know it's hard to think clearly with a headache.

I will not do double str'ps after missing an update, at least not now. Right now, this is actually kind of convenient for me, because I have to make more str'ps soon. After the one that was supposed to be posted today, my buffer would be out again, and the next couple of days we have way too much to do related to school, including tons of math homework and maybe 2-5 projects and hand-ins at the same time on different subjects. (2-5 is incidentally what I mean by "a few", "a handful", "several" (roughly) and "a couple". Randall Munroe agrees. In this case, however, any of those words would sound too trivial.) This means I probably won't have much time for making Com'c str'ps the next couple of days. Because I missed Monday, however, my current buffer would run out on Saturday instead, which leaves today, Saturday and Sunday to make more str'ps and avoid missing Monday next week.

About this str'p

Actually, Nope Guy is wrong - I know who he is. He's Nope Guy!

...I don't know any more than that.

About website layouts

I have been messing around with the color schemes and other parts of the website layout, as you can probably tell unless you're a new or future reader. The decision to make some changes was partly because we suddenly have web design in our Norwegian language education, and partly because I was unhappy with the previous layout, as it was boring and didn't really represent the comic in any way.

As for specific changes:

- The background color was changed to the closest thing Google Sites offers to the background color in the comic. The reasons for that choice of color should be obvious. Also, according to my Norwegian teacher, most people don't like dark themes as much as I do (I even have an extension for Chrome installed called Hacker Vision because some websites, including Wikipedia, hurt my eyes to read). I don't like pure white backgrounds, either. So the new background color feels like a fairly safe bet in the it is both representing Com'c, and a nice compromise between a dark and a light theme. I'd call it more of a light than a dark theme, but it doesn't hurt the eyes like pure white.

- Most text is now black, because white with this background would be a pain to read.

- The sidebar is gone, and replaced with horizontal navigation. This was a choice based on several different factors, one being that I couldn't change the background color of the sidebar, and that big chunk of black didn't fit in with the new and lighter theme. Also, the sidebar was boring.

- The header was changed: The background for it is now flush with the main background. I finally figured out how to have only one color for it, getting rid of the ugly horizontal split. Having it be flush with the background looks best in my opinion. Another change to the header is that the logo is now in the top left and search in the top right. The website title is no longer shown, seeing as the logo can convey that on its own.

- Near future: I'm planning to add some graphical content to the home page soon. It needs to become less boring.

I think there may have been some other small changes I'm forgetting about, but I guess that implies they're not that important anyway.

P.S.: The horizontal navigation predictably looks a bit crappy in mobile view.

Wrapping up

I'm sure elves like taco.
