Language Tools

Walt: Use different language tools like adjectives, nouns and verbs in our writing

Identify the difference in homonyms according to the spelling and meanings

Instructions

Make a copy of your activity. Remember to file it into your writing folder

Follow the instructions on each slide carefully

Publish activities to your blogs with 3+ sentences to explain what you have learned

Homonyms: are words that sound the same and sometimes look the same but have two different meanings. Read through each slide carefully and think about the spelling of the right word.

Verbs: are words that show action, happening or doing in a sentence. Verbs are rich in language and show the reader well thought out ideas.

Year 6 Camp

Editing a Paragraph

Walt: Write a detailed recount about our experience to Kawau Island

Walt: edit a paragraph so that it has the correct punctuation marks and makes sense

Instructions:

If you went on Year 6 camp, copy your doc and file it into your writing folder

Write at least 5 paragraphs outlining your time on camp

Plan your writing carefully and be sure to identify what the main idea for each paragraph will be. Your writing is due to be completed by Friday.

If you didn't go on camp, you need to make a copy of editing a paragraph read through and complete it. Be sure to include both the original paragraph and another copy of the changes you have made
