Fiafia 2016

Walt: Retell our experience of Fiafia

Instructions

You are going to write a recount of your experience of Fiafia.

Lots of schools don't have Fiafia and this is your chance to tell them what it is all about.

Planning:

Introduction: How often do we have Fiafia? What groups are there? How often did we practice?

Paragraph Two:

What group were you in? What songs/ items did you perform and learn? Tell us more about your group?

Paragraph Three:

What was your favourite group and why? Any other groups.

Paragraph Three:

Summarise your thoughts. How did you feel about Fiafia? What are you going to join next time if there is a Fiafia?

Remember: you do not embed your writing. You copy and paste it to your blog

Year 5 and 6 Camp

WALT: Retell our experience of camp

WILF: I can use interesting words and write detailed paragraphs

My writing has an introduction, middle and a conclusion

Instructions:

1. Click on the year 5 & 6 camp link (on the right) to complete the task.

2. You are to create a presentation recounting all of the amazing things that you did while you were on camp last week.

Remember to include as many important details when recounting camp. That way your audience will understand all of your experiences. You want your audience to feel like they were on camp with you.

Make sure to make your presentation look professional and interesting. Use different colours, backgrounds and photos.

Don’t forget to delete all notes on each page before you publish your presentation on your blog! :)

Easter Break Writing

Introduction - Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?

Paragraphs 2 and 3 - Include details of the activities you took part in, your point of view should be clear in these paragraphs

Paragraph 4 - Conclusion. Describe how you felt. Did you enjoy camp? What are you hoping to do in your next camp?

If you didn't go to camp you're going to write about what you did in the long weekend during the Easter break.

Listen carefully to Miss Lavakula when she reads out the paragraph. Your job is to write down each sentence word for word and punctuate as you go.

Punctuation marks include: fullstops, capital letters, commas, speech marks, question marks and so forth.

Fast finishers: Use sumopaint to draw a picture to go with your paragraph that you have written.

Remember we will mark together. Give yourself a mark of how well you did.

Instructions:

Read and think critically of the following paragraph. What can you see that needs fixing? How can we tighten up the sentences to make it interesting for our audience to read?

Write one paragraph for your orientation - include details, pirate's name, describe the pirate's character, was he/she by him/ herself. How did they come across an island?
