Therapy dogs . Animals here to help . In schools , the community and many other places . These dogs aren't just pets , they‘re specially trained superheroes ! And I believe we should get one for our school .
Firstly, therapy dogs can improve mental and physical health . It is scientifically proven that therapy dogs reduce stress levels and blood pressure , Increase levels of dopamine and serotonin ( Which are chemicals from your brain that make you feel good ) , decrease anxiety , help young readers and improve children's work learning and focus . Don't you want that for our school?
Secondly , these dogs make children want to come to school . These dogs reduce the level of bullying and fights , they make children calmer leading to a happy playtime . Due to that fact the school's attendance improves , as well as the children’s confidence , making it easier for them to speak in public .
Therapy dogs can also boost learning for children with ADHD , they do this by giving kids confidence making it easier to learn . AMAZING right ? This can make these kids extremely successful , and not just kids with ADHD , any kid ! Children that grow up with therapy dogs around are successful and less emotional . Therapy dogs can even help with problems like biting and attacking , for children with ADHD .
Therapy dogs could also help with strays . Kids being around dogs at school would encourage adults to get a dog meaning less dogs in shelters and less dogs wandering our cruel streets . Giving dogs a home obviously means a bit of money , but that money will go to the government for roads and shops for your local town . So It’s a Win Win !
In conclusion , I think our school should get a therapy dog , one here to stay . And not just our school , all schools !
For the dogs !
For us !
For the future !

I raise my leg, and… release! The ball goes flying. Lucinda dives for it but misses, and just watches the ball go over the fence. “I guess it's gone Nel.”
“What do you mean? it's just over the fence I can ask Neighbours,” I say happily.
“NO!” Lucinda says sternly. I ignore her and jump onto a chair. She sighs and walks off. I give her an indignant look. I then scramble onto the shed`s roof. My favorite spot. I look over the fence and see my ball, and I also see that the neighbors are having a barbecue. All the men are wearing suits, all except one, and all the ladies are wearing dresses. That's strange, strange, all the dresses are similar. All floral and blue with some white. Meh, the world is weird these days. I hop over and walk up to a girl in a pink dress. Everyone stops and stares.
“Hello,” I say nervously. Everyone looks like their child just had a heart attack. The girl stares confused and worried. “Can I get my ball please?” The girl nods. I then skip over to the bush and pluck my ball out.”Fank you,” I say politely
“That's ok” she stutters. She then hurries to the man in the weird band t-shirt, the man also seems to be the cook and most likely her dad. I give them a grateful wave and walk back through the gate. Everyone looked like I broke one of their rules or offended them in some way. But I don't care. I have my ball back and that`s all that matters.
