I hope I can write back to you tomorrow.
I’m against sharenting. Sharenting can be embarrassing for kids, it can cause kids to be bullied at school and their private information can be shared. Would you like it if your parents posted a photo of you online? I wouldn't.
Parents should get their kids permission to send a photo of them on social media and if your parents want to send a photo of you to their friends just text it to them directly not where everyone can see it. And the kids will think they have horrible parents.
Secondly, most parents have 1500 photos of their kids online before they are even 5 years old.
Parents post too many photos of their kids online that can become a problem. When the photos of their kids are being posted, sometimes they can accidentally put information about them on as well. Like where they live, where they go to school, what their name is to name a few. The problem with this is that if the information gets into the wrong hands, they can use it for bad things. Parents need to be more careful about what they are posting online to protect their children.
Parents send photos of their kids on social media because they are proud of their kids and want to share how good their kids are. Most kids don't like parents sending photos of them on social media because of how embarrassing it is. Parents should get their kids permission before they post anything about them. It can start bullying at their school and result in many other issues for the child.
Today I've talked about how sharenting makes kids feel embarrassed and all the things that can happen.
Thank you for listening.
