The racket of the train was the worst thing in the world. This is it. I thought. It’s over.
Bang! A bump startled me. Crash! A hole appeared on the floor. I look down at the track, maybe it’s not over just yet. A man jumped down. Silence. No commotion whatsoever. No sound of the bullets. He’s alive.
Bang! Another bump nocks a kid in.
“Help!” her cries leap around the box.
A young boy tried to help, “Come on Zelda”
As the boy struggles, I come and help.
Just knowing what my parents would want me to do gave me the urge to help.
“Thanks Felix,” the girl named Zelda gasped.
“Hey,” I asked. “Wanna come?”
I’ve got a feeling it’s now or never.
The three of us jump.
As I get up, I see the train go round the bend. We all break into laughter. The thought of surviving one of the world's worst events was slim, but we did it.
We're free.
Are you part of the 93% of boys or the 79% of girls that play video games?
Have you ever played a video game and not wanted to stop? Of course you have.
It’s not ok! Kids and parents spend way too much time on video games and I strongly believe that video games need a time limit.
Firstly, did you know that video games affect your health? You may say it boosts your brain connectivity and grey matter which helps you to function properly day to day. But did you ever think of the dark side? The dark side contains eye strain. Do you ever stare at the TV without blinking? Of course you have. That usually leads to eye strain. Sometimes playing video games can make you stressed, for example, not passing a level. That means you are getting cranky and upset. You may start to feel dehydrated because you can’t be bothered to get a drink of water. Or you’ll think you’ll get it after a round and forget to. It may also cause lack of motivation, poor emotional regulation, muscle loss and fat gain, poor sleep hygiene. This is all on video games. Set a time limit on video games.
Secondly, you may not know it but you might be addicted to gaming. Most kids play video games for 2 and a half hours to 4 hours DAILY. For a kid, you must be addicted. Minecraft has 972,821 players. That’s nearly ⅛ of the world’s population!
Apey legends has 413,670 players.
Pubg has 348,401 players.
Fortnite battle royal has 296,132 players.
At least 5% would be addicted. Video game addiction can lead to wrist, neck and elbow pain. Video game addiction can also affect your personal life and relationships. Some adults play for 15-20 hours a week. Even though only 4% of players are addicted, it does not mean you’re not close! 82% of 5-14 year olds play video games. 86% of 15-24 year olds play video games. That is not ok. Set a time limit on video games. Stop people getting addicted to video games.
Finally,“No,” you cry. Not passing a level. You’ve been playing for hours. Finally you smash the remote. This is the aggression video games give you. Parents, do you find your kid is getting angry easily? Well, I have an answer for you. Video games! Did you know that 85% of video games have a small amount of violence or more. Your kid may be aggressive to their brother or sister. Is your kid getting sad easily? Getting ruder and not listening. This is all because of video games. Are you getting phone calls from school about your kid mucking around? Think about it, it’s all on video games! Help your kid grow up really kind. Put a time limit on video games!
Those are my three reasons. Parents, Grandparents, Kids, do your part to prevent kids from getting addicted. The world depends on you. Become one of the 31% of people to stop addiction and emotion problems but to also help people with their health. Set a time limit on video games. Encourage people to try more hobbies and more activities.
For the kids!
For the parents!
For the future!
