This year for winter break we had a lot of people take some vacations to some interesting places. I decided to interview three seniors that went all over North America. The first person I talked to was Cade Souhrada. He went on a cruise! I asked him where he went and he said, “I went to multiple different places, started in Florida, went on a cruise to the Bahamas, then after the Bahamas we traveled to Cozumel Mexico, Roatan Honduras, and Costa Maya Mexico.” This particular interview interested me because of all the locations Cade got to see. I asked him what his favorite adventure/activity he experienced while on his vacation and he said, “Dodgeball on the cruise was really fun and the FlowRider Boogie Board thingy”. I thought it was interesting that all of his favorite activities were all on the cruise instead of an adventure he went on in one of the countries he traveled to. This made me wonder was it his first time on a cruise? He said, “It was my first time on a cruise and the first time going to the Bahamas and Honduras, but I have been to Mexico before”. This started to make more sense to me and it made me want to go on a cruise someday, so I asked him if he would recommend it? “Yes, it was really fun and lots of things to do”, he responded.
The next person I interviewed was Alex Bitterman. She decided to stay in America and travel to Mesa, Arizona. Arizona is a sightseeing adventure and a very cool place to visit. She said her favorite part was, “I really liked going to the old ghost towns and hiking through the desert because it was cool and fun. We saw a scorpion and snakes which was cool”. I also think this would be a fun adventure to go on and like Cade, she also recommended others to travel to Arizona.
The last person I interviewed was Mason Tyler. He took a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I have also traveled here and let me tell you, it is incredible. I wanted to compare my trip to his, so I asked him what his favorite adventure/activity was when he went there? He said, “My favorite thing I did there was golfing, but I also liked the beach”. I never got to go golfing when I went there, so I thought that was a very unique response and sounds incredible to do. Golfing in that weather would be incredible! He said, “It was my family’s first time there”, so I thought that finding somewhere to golf would be troubling, but his family pulled it off. I know I would want to go back there, but I asked him if he recommended it to others. He responded simply with, “I would recommend it to other people. The weather was nice and there was a lot to do”.
These three interviews go to show how big the world is and I only interviewed three people! A bunch of other students and staff traveled all over. If you are ever wondering where to go for vacation I got a couple of great spots from these interviews.
