The ISASP testing week
The annual tests known as the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) started on April 7th and continued until April 10th. That week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, there was an hour from 8:10-9:10 dedicated to ISASP testing. The Science assessment was taken during classes on Friday.
ISASP testing included 4 different subjects for the students to be tested: Reading Comprehension, Writing and Language Comprehension, Math Comprehension, with the last test being Science Comprehension.
The ISASP measures student achievement against the Iowa Core Standards in reading, writing, math, and science. Once the students are done testing, they are reviewed amongst the students in the school for each grade. Students are then compared with the other schools in the state on their test scores.
The ISASP is taken every year around the beginning of April, and taken by grades 3-11.
The Senior Class was not required to take the ISASP, so they were given an hour late start Monday-Thursday.
