This year, the Wilton Boys wrestling tied their all-time high of sending 11 boys to state. Although 11 wrestlers made it, only 10 competed at state due to an injury. The qualifiers included Romann Derksen (injured), Austin Etzel, Liam Adlfinger, Mason Shirk, Gabe Brisker, Jensen Boorn, Hayden Hill, Owen Milder, Clay Ledger, Gatlin Rodger, and Francisco Honts.
During the first round on the front side of the bracket, Boorn, Hill, Milder, Ledger, and Honts all wrestled good matches. Boorn, Hill, Milder, and Honts won their matches. During the second round, Etzel, Adlfinger, Shirk, Brisker, Boorn, Hill, Milder, Rogers, and Honts wrestled. Etzel, Adlfinger, Shirk, Brisker, and Rogers won their matches. Moving to the quarters, the five put up a good fight. Etzel, Adlfinger, Shirk, and Rogers won their matches, moving into the semi-finals. Etzel, Adlfinger, and Rogers won their matches, moving onto the finals. During the finals, everyone put up a good fight. Wilton came home with three runner-ups for the 2025 season.
On the back side of the bracket, Boorn, Hill, Milder, Ledger, and Honts wrestled in first-round consolations. Milder and Honts moved on to wrestle second-round consolations. During third-round consolations, Brisker wrestled moving into round four of consolations. Shirk wrestled during fifth-round consolations, winning moving into sixth-round, wrestling for third place. Shirk placed fourth, and Brisker placed seventh.
Overall, with all the hard work and dedication, the Wilton boys' wrestling team placed third for 1A State. The team came home with five state placers as well.
