Senior Assassin

As the end of the school year is rolling to an end for the Wilton Beaver seniors, a new tradition is being created. This year marks the first year that the seniors have decided to participate in a game that is played all around the country, known as Senior Assassin. The rules for the game are simple: hit your target with a water gun. There was a five-dollar entry fee, which is referred to as the pot. The prize for the overall winner is well over 100 dollars!

Every week, everyone playing is sent their target for the week, which they only have a week to get. Not getting your target doesn't mean you are out; it makes the game last longer. There are safe items you can wear, either floaties on your arm or goggles over your eyes. There is one day a week that is randomly chosen, which is called purge day. On purge day, safe items do not count, and you have to be extra careful.

“It is so fun trying to find my target every week and having to wear my goggles in public!” stated Natalie Hartman,  a senior at Wilton.

“I definitely think I was not nearly prepared enough. I was a little reckless, knowing that the person who had me (Jordan Dusenberry most likely knew my day-to-day schedule, and just overall it was poor planning,” said Aiden Grace, the first person to get out the day the game started.

So far, a total of six people have gotten out in the first two weeks of the game. There are still 20 people remaining in the game, but within the week, the numbers are sure to drop!
