Unlike last year, this year's yearbook class has a staff of only six students. With that being said, more pressure is on the line with 91 pages created so far and more to come in the future.
This year, the students decided to go with a color theme instead of something like a movie, book, or classical theme. The staff chose four different colors to incorporate throughout the whole book, which will tie the theme of the yearbook together. As of January, the students have 49 pages started with the majority being done but not yet submitted in case of some last minute changes.
This year, the students welcomed a new yearbook teacher, Mr. Elsielstein. He has changed the class for the better, with being more organization, keeping the class is on track, and creating spreadsheets to check up on all the page's progress of yearbook sales, business ads, and Senior Tributes. He has also helped the staff with pictures, uploads, and yearbook pages.
Another new addition to the class is a student-created Instagram page. This helps all students get involved within the yearbook. The Instagram page has posted photo dumps and reminders for all student members. Follow the page at @wilton_yearbook.
Lastly, the yearbook is adding more of the old fashion trends into the book. For example, the staff are incorporating senior pictures plus quotes. Another old fashion trend is adding a scoreboard to the majority of the sports pages. The students wanted more pictures than words this year, so adding captions and small text boxes replaced long write-ups. The staff thought this would be the best route to go because everyone would rather look at pictures than read a bunch of words.
The class is expecting more students to join next semester. Editors Alex Bitterman and Isabella Fulton will really crack down to make sure this yearbook is getting finished on time and efficiently.
