Architecture major
A multi-media visual artist from Tacoma, Washington, I have a background in glass art, printmaking, and film. As an Architecture major at Wellesley College, much of my art revolves around how people perceive, occupy, and shape space, while my research and writing mostly investigate the mutual shaping of communities and urban landscapes.

Today, the majority of Boston’s fire escapes are not up to code. Precarity captures the precarious nature of these condemned structures that remain omnipresent in our urban spaces. Stencils of five fire escapes from different areas of the city, ranging from wealthy to underserved neighborhoods, are printed in black. Untethered from their buildings and rendered in paper, the stencils become limp and mangled after one use. The resulting impressions aim to highlight the fragility of these iron appendages' existence and the constant danger their lack of maintenance poses.
