Growing up in Colorado, I was always playing in nature and surrounded by the greater Rocky Mountains. As I explored and considered the beauty of nature, the more I began to realize how massive the world actually is. When confronted with this vastness, it made me question: what does it mean to live a small life in a world so big? It might be incredibly daunting to consider our lives in this way, however, despite being miniscule in the grand scheme of things, every human experience is marked by a level of emotion and connection that is incredibly unique. My artwork serves as a physical manifestation of the internal pieces of the lived human experience. It explores a range of topics including emotions, memory, and relationships. I want to remind the people who see my work that while there may be billions of people on this planet at any given time, their experience is special and even…rare.

In Time I See You explores the complexities involved when in a relationship with another person. Whether it is platonic, familial, or romantic, any relationship requires a balance between energy and time. Sometimes you are required to give more or need to receive more depending on who you are connected to. This sculpture of drawings seeks to represent the abstracted parts of relationships; some people may have a more defined relationship with you while others may require more interpretation.
