Psychology major, Studio Art minor
My work explores personal life-changing moments through intricate detail and anatomy. My gravitation towards monochrome perhaps reflects my tendency to think in black-and-white, but the greyscale within also conveys my gradual understanding that life is about balance and coexisting differences. Behind these works are countless revisits to subsided internal turmoil and also an aspiration to experience renewed appreciation towards nature at the completion of every new piece of art I create. My work portraying frozen moments in time ultimately seeks to encapsulate a fluid narrative via personal resonance.

“Stop picking at your nails, what are you being so nervous for?”
This series of drawings dissects the motion of nail picking, slowing down an act of self-soothing and anxiety relief that is repetitive in nature into distinct frames leading up to the moment before that tiny bit of extra pressure finally triggers the burst of blood to bloom on the surface of the skin.
