The final win against Panther Creek meant the end of the regular football season. The Holly Springs Hawks finished the season with an impressive 7-3 in the regular season and 6-1 in the conference. After a bit of a rough start to the season, the Hawks managed to find their flow and worked together as a team to finish the season strong and earn a spot in the state playoffs.

With the popularity of football games and the size of the crowds that are present in the stands, one can’t help but wonder why football is as popular as it is. Maybe it’s the idea of going to a game with your friends and just enjoying yourself, showing your spirit and having fun. Perhaps it’s being in the stands, surrounded by screaming and energetic fans, that gets you pumped and ready to cheer for your team.

Football’s immense popularity could come from many things. Many fans enjoy the traditions that the sport brings. These traditions include things like kickoffs, tailgates, half-time performances, and for high school and college teams, homecoming games. The Super Bowl is another highly beloved tradition. It’s an event where you have the opportunity to have fun and just sit and watch. These highly enjoyed traditions highlight the fun aspects of football and the parts of the sport that many love.

Another reason football is so popular is because of the generational pride and spirit that comes from supporting a team. A good majority of people’s favorite teams comes from the fact that their family has been celebrating them for a long time. Having family football parties, wearing merchandise, and bonding over your mutual love for the team can be something that you remember for the rest of your life.
