"Staying Active and Healthy During Covid"
by Shannon Fahey
During the course of the Covid lockdown this past year of school, everything was different and there were limited options of what we were allowed to do. Due to the fact that we couldn’t leave our homes or go into public places for a while, it was hard to find the motivation to stay active or have balanced meals daily. I decided to get student Alexa Mohajer’s point-of- view on this event.
In our interview, she stated that she also found difficulties in staying motivated to workout and eat healthier. Instead of becoming discouraged by the thought of being locked indoors, isolated from the world, Alexa decided to do some research and figure out ways around the lockdown. She claimed that she started to research healthy recipes to make and rode her bike more often. She also said that on days it rained, she would do yoga and listen to music as a way of moving around.
We all faced our adversities during Covid and had many difficulties finding different ways to stay physically and mentally healthy. Alexa Mohajer faced challenges through these hard times as well, but instead of letting doubt and the feeling of discouragement get the best of her, Alexa put the lockdown into good use and found many ways to stay healthy through eating nutritiously and staying physically active.
