Cheer and Stunt Teams

The cheer team just finished off a fantastic season! Led by Ms. Broome, the team finished in first place in the SWAC as well as first in the county in the regular season. They then advanced to states, putting on two great performances and placing third!

The team enjoyed a packed senior night at home this year, celebrating four graduates: Maddie Murdock, Olivia Peters, Grace Patel, and Katie Kilduff. Katie, part of the team for four years, told me she gained leadership skills, especially learning how to work for the team. She says the team is a family, made up of some of her best friends. She attributes their conference title to difficult practices, which drove them to work hard in competition.

Olivia added that “working together even when it got difficult” and “everyone making sacrifices for the team’s overall success” led them to win the county. Stunt team tryouts began Monday, Feb. 28, after the publication of this article, but if you are interested, go see Ms. Broome! Good luck to the team as they begin their season!
