What you need:
Incoming Call:
Name of caller.
Agency calling from.
Where is it located?
What lanes are affected?
Is LE on scene?
Case number, if available.
Create Lonestar event:
Event will be public.
Event Description and Type will be High Water.
Can you find it on CCTV? If not, notate in history.
Dispatch/Outgoing Call:
If high water is construction related, see Construction Zones tab under Phone Calls for more information.
If on HERO route, dispatch HERO to confirm high water.
Once confirmed, notify maintenance. If causing a risk for other drivers, HERO might stay on scene until maintenance arrives to block roadway. Treat as lane blocking event.
If not on HERO route or CCTV, call maintenance yard right away.
Event will stay OPEN until verified that it is clear. If not on camera or HERO route, call maintenance yard responsible at least every 2 hours for an update.
Email Notification:
During winter weather the TMC may get email messages from the following: John Gold, Gabriela Perales, Jacob Wells, Omar De Leon and Brenda Guerrera. The email will request for DMS messages to be placed warning motorists of Icy Conditions. Once the messages are placed; Please make sure ALL message requests we receive for weather related events are sent to the TRF-EOC-DMS email group with the subject line AUS DMS stating that we have posted the message. You may also reply to the requester, typically AUS-EOC, always will be in a separate email.
Summary:
Send one email back to the requestor letting them know you received the request and have posted the message.
Send a separate email to TRF-EOC-DMS with subject line “AUS DMS” and in the email you should note the Stage and Alt message being displayed and locations.
