What you need:
Event is public.
Choose the most fitting event Type. Most common will be Collision.
Location (Roadway name, direction, approximate distance from closest intersection)
If resulting from collision, weather conditions must be added.
If a vehicle is involved obtain information – if no license plate info, obtain VIN if possible. If missing a bit of info, add note in history.
Size of spill, type of spill.
TMC will determine by checking maps which district the event will be in: ie, Roy Jorgensen or which Maintenance Section.
Name of Incident Commander and phone number if readily available.
Snapshot, if possible. If not, add a note in history.
1. The TMC will continue to contact Roy Jorgensen for any Hazmat related calls within Roy Jorgensen area.
2. Maintenance Section will be contacted to assist on all HAZMAT spills.
A. For spills 25 gallons or less Maintenance Section will assist with clean up if requested.
B. For spills 25 gallons or more Maintenance Section will assist with clean up, traffic control if requested.
C. Type of spill ie; Diesel, Hydraulic Oil, if a chemical spill type of chemicals involved.
3. The TMC will contact the Maintenance Section for that area within the TxDOT Region. whether during Office Hours or contacting the After-Hours personnel.
4. If the request for assistance is denied or no answer the TMC will at time will contact the Supervisor for that Maintenance Section.
5. Jacob Wells will be contacted in the event all above avenues have been exhausted and he will be provided all the details regarding the incident.

HERO activities as following:
MOT/Traffic Control.
(Activity that HERO states he is performing, if any.)
Add any agencies on scene. If HERO does not advise you, ask HERO.
Case number from law enforcement agency responsible needs to be obtained.
If lane blocking on frontage or freeway, send an email. Include the AUS groups, and the proper maintenance yards. State any important information you obtain such as a law enforcement case number.
If lane blocking on the freeway, post DMS. Have them approved by supervisor/designated operator before executing.
HAZMAT employee must be notified if over 25+ gallons, add note in history about who/when contacted. Phone numbers are located under Sources tab.
Maintenance yard must be notified, add note in history about who/when contacted.
If ALL LANES CLOSED the PIO must be notified according to the PIO Criteria. Look out for emails from Bradley Wheelis if he is away from office and someone else is needing to be notified, add note in history about who/when contacted. (See PIO Notifications under the Collision, Critical & PIO Tab).
Be sure TxDOT Management is notified via email. Make note when notified.

HCRS Entry – CTECC Shift Supervisors
Crashes that close all lanes in one or both directions. 24/7/365
Monitor closure for proper updates in HCRS
Expiration of closure can be set to 2 hours for crashes
Expiration of closure can be set to 4 hours for fatalities
Renewal of entry may be necessary if closure duration is longer
*PIO will no longer enter crashes into HCRS. Projected start date of October 1, 2022.
If an incident/crash is identified 0-5 miles from the district boundary (Bell and Comal County) in the direction that traffic would queue up in the neighboring district (Southbound for northern limits, Northbound for southern limits) WACO district and SAT district will be notified respectively.
If freeway closure on IH-35 Northbound just after the Hays/Comal County line, advise neighboring district:
