HERO activities as following:

MPOUND WRECKER FOR ABANDONED VEHICLES:
-If HERO requests, and if in APD jurisdiction, send impound tow request email from the Lonestar event to APD Wrecker Request with the following information:
-Vehicle color/make/model/plate or VIN info. THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION WILL BE THE MAKE AND THE PLATE/VIN. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM INCLUDED IN THE EMAIL.
-“Vehicle is unoccupied. HERO tow requested for impound of abandoned vehicle”
The reply from APD Teletype will look similar to: ---->
APD will provide the following information:
-The 9 digit number is called the CAD number.
YY-DDD-CCCC
-The name of the tow company.
Most common tow companies:
-Southside
-Lakeside
-Austex
-The name of the approving officer.
-The 4-digit officers badge number (Usually starts with AP.)
Y = Year D = Day - C = Case
1st day of year is Jan 1 (001)
Last Day of year is Dec 31st (365)
So if impound is on Jan 1st the case # would look like 24-001-CCCC with last 4 digits being the actual case number. This type of case number is called Julian date.
From example:
200230526 (CAD)
SOUTHSIDE (TOW COMPANY)
SGT MARQUEZ AP 4908 D290 (APPROVING OFFICER, AP is BADGE NUMBER, D290 is the call sign used by APD dispatch)
Copy this info into the Lonestar call notes.
The CAD, approving officer name, badge number, and tow company must be given to HERO ASAP.
