MEDICAL EMERGENCY (PEDESTRIAN)

Very rarely HERO will observe a pedestrian in need of medical attention.

What you need:

• Event is public.

• Event Type will be Police Activity.

• Location.

• Snapshot, if possible. If not, add a note in history.

• Obtain as much detailed information from HERO as possible (ex. race, age, gender, clothing, if breathing, if seizing.)

• Call 911 (or PD in area) and advise them of the situation. Follow their prompts and answer questions accordingly. Advise them if HERO will be staying on scene with vehicle. Add to event history a comment stating who you spoke to, what time, and why. Add agency under info page 2 and click “notified.”

HERO activities as follows:

• MOT/Traffic Control.

• Other – state in history “Other activity as HERO requesting EMS for medical emergency” and state nature of emergency. 

• Though they are not required to, HERO should stay on scene until first responders arrive, even if he just stays in his truck.
