Adler Johnson (Class of 1942)
Adler won four basketball letters and earned All-District and All-Region honors. The Agate teams he played on won District Titles in 1940 and 1942. Adler won the American Legion Outstanding Athlete Award and was class president in 1939, 1940 and 1941. With the onset of WWII, Adler joined the Naval Air Corps and was commissioned as a pilot. After completion of military service, he attended the University of Minnesota attaining a B.A. Adler returned to Two Harbors and entered the automobile business with his father-in-law, Alfred Sonju, and continued in that business for 32 years. Adler was well-known in the area as a successful and civic minded businessman.
