Howard Johnson (Class of 1924 )
Howard played football and basketball and was a member of the 1924 State Basketball Championship Team from Two Harbors. Howard played center and was the individual star of the 1924 tournament earning All-State honors. Referring to Howard, the Daily News of Hibbing wrote, " opposing guards would be rushed aside like chaff as he plunges toward the basket and two points". Advancing to the National Scholastic Tournament, Howard hellped to lead the Agates to victory over Jackson, Michigan despite being ill. The next opponent was Emporia, Kansas and Howard was hampered again by illness and could not get into his usual stride as Two Harbors lost.
