Grant Johnson

Grant Johnson (Class of 1934)

Grant lettered in basketball five times, football twice, and pitched American Legion Baseball for five years.  The basketball squads he was a part of won conference and district championships.  Grant was the winner of the 1934 American Legion Citizenship Award and the award for Academics and Athletics.  Grant attended college at Gustavus Adolphus before transferring to the University of Minnesota where he was part of Big Ten Championship Basketball Teams in 1937 and 1938.  He was chosen one of the Greatest Athletes of Lake County of the first half century.  Grant received a masters and PhD in 1952 and taught and coached before becoming a school administrator.
