Lloyd Stein (Class of 1927)
Lloyd lettered in football and basketball in high school and was a member of the 1924 State Championship Basketball Team. Lloyd attended the University of Minnesota where he was a two year starter on the football team. Lloyd remained at the university and became the Gophers Head Trainer in 1935 and held the position for 42 years. "Snapper", as he was known to generations of athletes, was the trainer during six National Football Championships, two Rose Bowl appearances and two NCAA Baseball Championships. Lloyd was inducted into the National Athletic Trainers Hall of Fame and the University of Minnesota Hall of Fame.
