SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION - The Necessary Conditions for Healing
Salvation and sanctification are the paths to transforming human nature and restoring it to God's original design. They are the two sides of the same coin. Salvation resurrects the human spirit, which positions you on the path of healing; sanctification heals your body, soul, and spirit from the consequences of the sin that corrupted them.
Scripture describes salvation as a peace like a river (Isaiah 66:12-13). When you accept Christ, this peace will be granted to you. It is the proof of your salvation. “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding” (Phil 4:7) will be imparted to you when you accept Jesus as your Lord, God, and Savior. Here are the steps to take when you are ready for this:
You must
BELIEF in Jesus as Lord, God, and Savior for the remission of your sins
ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SIN
CONFESS YOUR SIN - verbal to a priest/pastor or inward prayer of confession to our high Priest Jesus
REPENT FROM YOUR SIN - rejection of the practices of the flesh and commitment to remove them
ACCEPT Christ Jesus as your Lord, God, and Savior
Upon the above conditions of heart, a person is JUSTIFIED and declared SAVED.
PRAYER FOR SALVATION
Lord Jesus, your Word says that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Acts 2:22). I am now calling to you, Lord. Before you, I humbly confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Forgive me for the sins I have committed against you and anyone, knowingly or unknowingly.
Please come into my heart as my Lord, God, and Savior and cleanse me from all my sins. I surrender to your kingship, and in faith, I entrust my life to your hands. Lord, your Word says in Romans 10:9-10, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” I believe, Lord. Your Word is Truth. Please grant me your salvation. May the Spirit of the living God come upon me and empower me to live a good life. Grant me, Lord Jesus, victory over the sinful practices of my flesh by the power of your Holy Spirit. Thank you for saving me and for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the above prayer and meant everything from the bottom of your heart, you are saved. Welcome to the family of God! If you could, you would see angels making victory laps around you, welcoming you into the Kingdom of God. Scripture says heaven has a grand celebration when a soul is saved. Jesus said, “I tell you that in the same way, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”(Luke 15:7)
More likely is that you didn’t experience or feel anything unusual. The ground didn’t shake, and the skies didn’t open. Yet, the words you just spoke have taken life of their own. They roll and unfold in the spiritual realm until they accomplish the purpose they were spoken for. You will soon experience the presence of the Holy Spirit; your spirit will soon testify with God’s Spirit that you are indeed saved. Salvation is a spiritual transaction between you and God.
Spiritual reality is only approached by faith. So is the event of salvation. It is a spiritual happening beyond seeing, touching, or hearing. Jesus explained this, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:5-8)
It is by faith that we are saved. I pray you acquire the childlike faith required for your salvation and consequential healing. This is Jesus’ teaching, not mine,
“He called a little child to him and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:2-4)
If you have accepted God’s free offer for salvation, you will be equipped with the necessary tools to heal. Upon salvation, your human spirit was resurrected. The Holy Spirit will remain in you, and it is now God’s power within you that will accomplish your healing. At the beginning of time, we were designed after God's own likeness, but sin marred our human nature, corrupting it. Through salvation, we acquire back our divine nature and gain back the initial image after which our holy God created us.
Salvation is a singular point in time and space where and when we decided to accept Christ as our savior. Sanctification follows salvation, a life-long process through which we continuously shed the old nature with its corrupt practices and are infused with Christ's divine qualities.
NOTE: The key to entering the kingdom of God is repentance, which is salvation. The key to remaining in the kingdom of God is the practice of daily repentance, which is sanctification.
